W.H. Blaylock Joins Energy Transportation As Safety Coordinator

William H. Blaylock Jr. has joined Energy Transportation Corporation, 540 Madison Avenue, New York, N.Y., as safety coordinator.

Upon completion of studies at Georgia Institute of Technology, Mr. Blaylock served with the U.S. Coast Guard for over 26 years as recruit training instructor, operations officer, commanding officer, dangerous cargoes officer for the USCG in San Diego, and chief warrant officer/ marine inspector.

As ship superintendent for Todd Shipyards, he was responsible for the preparation of specifications and work orders for vessel repairs and the supervision and coordination of ship repairs, alterations and conversions. In recent years, Mr. Blaylock was manager of the Marine Compliance and Inspection Group of Santa Fe International Corporation in charge of certification, licensing and other official documentation of drilling, pipelaying and support vessels, and acted in an advisory capacity in the preparation of training and operating manuals.

Energy Transportation will operate ten 125,000-cubic-meter liquefied natural gas vessels in the Indonesia/Japan trade and Algeria/ U.S. trade. Mr. Blaylock's responsibilities will include the development of operations and safety manuals, and liaison with governmental agencies in connection with the operation of liquefied natural gas vessels.
